 You attract what you are. I love this saying!

“But what could this possibly mean?” you ask.

Let’s talk about it.

Some of you at one time or another have probably heard this phrase. Someone may have even said it to you in an effort to give you some advice.

Well, for you Law of Attraction specialists out there I think you have the answer. I’m sure that with no problem you can explain the statement “You attract what you are.”

But for those of us new to the Law of Attraction, how would you explain the phrase: You attract what you are?

Seriously; What’s the easiest way to express this fundamental piece of the law of attraction puzzle?

I’m going to share my way with you but first I wanted to state some other common ways that I found to say it.  Here they are:

  • You are what you attract
  • The inside equals the outside
  • The outside equals the inside
  • As above, so below
  • You are all imagination
  • You are your thoughts expressed
  • Imagining creates your reality
  • You are what you imagine
  • Your imagination produces your reality
  • You are what you think
  • You are what you eat (mentally)
  • Your chickens come home to roost
  • What you feel, you attract
  • The mind creates your circumstances
  • Everything comes from within
  • Input = Output
  • The world is a mirror of your thoughts

These ones are pretty much all saying the exact same thing and you’ve likely heard them before and wondered what they meant.

Well guess what?

They are all talking about the law of attraction!

Here’s a real-life example of what this saying means.  After you read it, I believe you will understand better the saying “You attract what you are.”

Kate’s Story

I once had a dear friend that was always attracting boyfriends that were mean to her.  It was a strange thing to witness; and also heartbreaking.  Watching my friend repeat this endless cycle of meeting a new guy and being so very happy but then after a few weeks or months breaking up with him because he was a total jerk.

I used to think about how unlucky she was for this thing to happen to her over and over until I learned about the law of attraction.

After I was “schooled” in the mysterious power of the imagination, I learned about the true origin of my friend’s problems.  I was astonished.  

I have to admit that after I learned about the inner workings of the mind and more specifically, the imagination, the whole world began to make a whole lot more sense to me.

You attract what you are.

So what was the origin of my friend Kate’s problems?

Allow me to explain.

Because of this law that says what we are thinking, feeling, imagining on the inside is attracted to us, I can tell you a lot about my friend.  I know for example, that she is imagining or feeling that she is not a very valuable person.  I also know that she does not imagine herself to be someone that is to be honored and respected.  She could not possibly feel valued, secure and strong.

How do I know that?

Simple.

If my dear friend actually felt these things on the inside, the outside would be an exact reflection of that.  

I mean if she felt honored, respected, and confident and If she genuinely felt secure and strong, then that would attract similar circumstances in her outer life.  She would certainly attract human beings that would correspond to her thinking.  It has nothing to do with chance or luck.

In fact it has everything to do with her imagination.

How my friend could make an instant, powerful, change.

Let’s say that Kate learned about the amazing Secrets of her Imagination.

And let’s say she was willing to make the effort and impose a radical change in what she was imagining on a habitual basis.

She would take these 3 simple steps.

  • STEP ONE is to know what she wants.
    In this case, my friend wants a partner that loves her, respects and honors her. She wants to feel valued and be secure and confident.
  • STEP TWO is to Incorporate a method of working.
    She needs to take time each day to relax in a private place and in her imagination indulge in these things that she wants. Kate should picture her ideal man treating her like a queen. She needs to imagine the feeling of being honored, respected, and loved dearly. She needs to imagine herself as confident and secure. She should think from the point of view that her wish has already become a reality and enjoy the feeling that arises from that fact. Imagining and feeling is the secret to success here.
  • STEP THREE is to repeat everyday.
    Repeat everyday at least once a day; more if you feel the need. The key here is to fully indulge the imagination in these new thoughts and feelings. The imagination has to be fully immersed in the new thinking until it becomes almost like a new mood that takes over your mentality and you begin to carry it around with you. It literally becomes a part of you.

Conclusion

Change is that easy, but do not discount the power of your imagination. 

It works miracles.

If there is something you want in your life and you are willing to do the work of changing what you are habitually thinking and feeling you too can have the things you truly want;

..all for the price of changing what you are imagining.
